Default Wireless Travel Routers

I have a laptop computer and I would like to be able to access wi-fi, but neither USB or PCMCIA cards are an option for me. I do have an RJ45 ethernet connection. Someone suggested that I might be able to get a wireless travel router and that it would connect to a wi-fi network and then send singal to my laptop via the ethernet connection. I am wondering if anyone here has any experience with any of these and how well they worked out for you. I have seen just a few of them for sale. Also important to me is true "plug and play" capability since my laptop does not have a CD-ROM drive. Some of the ones I know about are:

-3Com Office Connect Wireless Travel Router 3CRTRV10075US (7.3)

-NetGear Wireless Travel Router WGR101 (6.6)

-Linksys Wireless-G Travel Router WTR54GS (5.7)

-Belkin Wireless-G Travel Router F5D7233 (7.1)

-Apple AirPort Express Base Station (8.1)

(I put the CNET "score" in parentheses although the one for Linksys is actually Average user rating and only eleven users rated it.)

Does anybody have any thoughts on how well these work or know of any others that might be available?

Here is CNETs take on these:

http://reviews.cnet.com/routers/belk...tag=prod.txt.1

Again, what is critical for me is true plug and play without having a CD-ROM drive. It looks like most of them can be had from time to time on Ebay.

Sorry, I have no personal experience with the travel routers. However, you are wise to use cNet as a reference. Do any of them mention PnP - no software needed?
