St. Petersburg, Florida Selects Earthlink.
Today, the City of St. Petersburg selected Earthlink, Inc. to build and maintain a municipal wireless Internet network.
This announcement comes on the heels of another Earthlink Municipal contract which was revealed yesterday; Houston, Texas. These two contracts along with the recent additions of Alexandria, Virgina and Atlanta, Georgia, puts Earthlink at the front of this thriving industry - leading other players such as; AT&T, and Clearwire. Clearwire, which is coming up on an IPO is using WiMax technology to build out their networks.
