Updated 17 November 2006.
The rules havent changed, but the odds of winning have increased. Here are the new rules for the updated giveaway... We are now giving away five wireless routers! Furthermore, we will be sending the winners the newest specification routers - 802.11n We will be selecting winners across various post counts, as follows: 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, and 2500 posts. This means we will have a new winner every 500 posts - opposed to all three being selected after 1500. This means fewer posts before a chance to win and more chances to become that winner. Here is how it works: 1) You sign up here in the WiFi.community, free of charge or fear of us using your email address nefariously. (see our privacy policy) 2) You introduce yourself in our introductions thread or share your knowledge and/or experience with wireless Internet related topics in one of our forums. Perhaps you even have questions about wifi you would like answered, that counts! 3) When a winning post count is reached (i.e. 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500) and you have at least 15 worthwhile posts (no spamming) you are thrown into the pot of potential winners. 4) You have five chances to win, but you can only win once. It does not matter if you only have 15 posts at the later post counts - 1000, 1500, 2000, or 2500. You still qualify for a router! Winners are selected at random using your forum member ID number and a random number selector from those entered in the drawing. Below this text is the original giveaway. You can see we have fattened the pot! "We have three Linksys Wireless Routers (4-port, 802.11g) to give away to members! This is how you can qualify to be a winner: We have decided to offer three routers to members who become active in the community. Three random posts will be selected from now until the community reaches *1500 posts. This means you have better than a 1 in 500 chance of winning a router if you should sign into our community and make only 1 post! Of course we encourage all members to post more than once. The three winners will be announced shortly after the 1500th post is made. Date to be determined by the speed in which we reach 1500 posts. Depending on how long it takes, we may fatten the pot at some time during the giveaway. Here are the rules: 1) No spamming allowed - if you are deemed to be intentionally padding your posts through posts which hold no value to the community, your post will be removed and you will be removed from the competition. 2) No one member can win more than one router. If you happen to be lucky enough to have posted for all three random numbers, than you will become slightly less lucky by throwing those routers back into the pot. Then we will randomly select how ever many more posts are needed to find new winners. Good luck! *1500 posts minus admin posts." Last edited by WiFi.com : 11-17-2006 at 12:27 PM. Ok, considering the slow start I will make a few changes and make the alterations in the first post. Basically, we are now giving away five wireless routers! Furthermore, we will be sending the winners the newest specification routers - 802.11n
These puppies are retailing at $150.00 plus! We will be spreading the joy across various post counts, as follows: 500, 1000, 1500, 2000, and 2500. This means we will have a new winner every 500 posts - opposed to all three being selected after 1500. This means fewer posts before a chance to win and more chances to become a winner. Of course, minus moderator posts: So, as of now I have 300+ posts. If we were at 800+ posts the first winner would be sent a free wireless 802.11n router - in the box and shipped for free. Good luck! |
