There are many providers of wireless Internet service using wifi technology. To list them all here is not our intention with this post. Instead, we are providing you with a list of websites which offer databases of wifi hotspots. These hotspots may be operated by a "pay for" provider or by the establishment offering the service ("pay for" or free).
WiFi.com is not affiliated with any of the hotspot list websites offered below. Also, we do not fiscally benefit from driving you to their website or for any sales made by the owners of these websites, if you should decide to buy something from them.
WiFi.com feels these sites offer the most comprehensive list of hotspots. If you are not satisfied with the results offered with our hotspot locator, we recommend trying these sites:
JiWire -
The largest Hotspot List provider we know of. However, WiFi.com suspects nefarious business practices. Thus, we do not endorse their content. Nevertheless, their database of hotspots is large and we doubt conduct unbecoming would affect the end user. JiWire also offers some in-house software packages for wireless Internet applications.
Wi-Fi Hotspot List - A database maintained by Jupiter Media. The site claims to be the leading resource for finding wireless access points around the world. Jupiter Media also owns Wi-Fi Planet, a very good news source for wireless Internet.
Wi-Fi Free Spot - This is a very good resource for finding free wireless Internet locations around town. They also have listings of companies with multiple locations, i.e. Panara Bread, Office Depot, Apple Retail Stores.
Hotspot Haven - We like this site because it is easy to navigate and not overwhelming with advertisements. They call themselves, "A Wireless Hotspots Search Engine." Hotspot Haven also offers some in-house wireless Internet software.
WiFinder - Claims to be the world-wide registry for Wi-Fi hotspots. Furthermore, function as a global white and yellow pages for global Wi-Fi Internet. There is alot going on at the home page, but the site is ok to navigate. The good thing is the first step for the end user should not be too difficult - if looking for a Wi-Fi hotspot.
