Arrow Wireless Network Interface Card Client Utility Program.

What is a Wireless Network Interface Client Utility Program?
What if I am having problems with my Utility?

And for the sake of those acronymers out there, what is a WNICUP?

A wireless network interface client utility program is an application which allows the end user (you) to access the Internet wirelessly through your wireless-capable device (i.e. Laptop computer).

Depending on the manufacturer of the network interface card the utility programs may vary. Additionally, computer manufacturers (i.e. Dell) often have their own utility program loaded on the wireless device. For example, some Dell computers use the Dell Wireless Utility to access wireless hotspots, while others may use the Intel ProSet Utility.

Before seeking troubleshooting information related to wireless Internet accessibility, it is important you know what utility is being used by your device. In a Windows environment you may need to access the Hardware or Device Manager in order to locate the wireless network interface card loaded on the device. Or, in many cases the utilities used for accessing the Internet wirelessly can be found within the control panel.

To access the control panel, click on the start button (bottom left hanbd corener of screen), scroll and click on settings, and then click on control panel.

You may have more than one utility listed in the control panel. For instance, I have Dell WLAN Utility and an Odyessy Client Manager. Both of these utilities will allow me to access the Internet wirelessly. However, depending on the settings, one utility may override another. You may need to disable one or more utilties so conflicts do not arise. Access the utility settings through the control panel. Typically you will need to right click on the utiltiy icon in the control panel and then click on properties. In some cases you can disable the utility from the properties window (options).

This may or may not help you solve the issue you are experiencing with your wireless connectivity. If not, please feel free to create a thread in this forum with your issue and we will do our best to get you an answer.
