Here are couple of things I found regarding wifi for the 20GB PS3:

From Wikipedia: "No official Wi-Fi or flash memory card adapters have yet been released by Sony, although plans for such add-ons are in place."

An article offered by GameIndustry.biz states: "The spokesperson went on to reveal that Sony plans to release a Wi-Fi adaptor for the 20GB PlayStation 3. Consumers will also have the option to purchase a separate adaptor that will allow the use of memory sticks, sd cards and compact flash cards with the machine."

You might want to check out the Sony PlayStation website.

A review is also available at Amazon from someone who picked up an adapter for the 20GB PS3 and apparently it works well.

FYI - The latest firmware, version 1.60, lists wifi connectivity for those 20GB PS3 owners.

Question Huh ??!?!?!!

Dear WiFi people,
Hi my name is.....well my name isn't important right now. For the last month and a half I've been trying to get WiFi but new problems keep popping up. Let me explain the situation for you to see if you can help.

-I have a laptop
-It has no CLEARLY stated name, and we've looked all over for one and there isn't one anyway that we could find
-My laptop is used and its about...oh, I'd say inch, inch and a half thick?
-It is a few years old but still has Windows XP
-Generally slow. I mean maybe I have to Clean Sweep it again but it takes about 10-15 minutes to run with out freezing when you start it up.

So to my understanding before I actually RESEARCHED WiFi, I thought it was just a chip you buy and put into you're computer and PRESTO! You get wire-less internet!

But oh how wrong I was!

Turns out you need a router (???) and a USB thing (???) AND the chip/card thing! That is if the USB thing and the chip is the same thing....

But anyway. The way you explained it was very easy to understand....but for someone who usually works with the technical part of computers! What I don't get is

A) Why do you need a router AND a USB chip for internet wire-less-ly ?
B) How can you tell if your laptop has a built in whatever in it ?
C) If you DO have that built-in feature, what else do you need then ?
D) Why do only some WiFi providers have to pay a monthly fee AND a big fee for purchasing the chip??
E) And finally, you said that you needed to hook up somethin to the router and then you get 50-100 feet worth of WiFi or somethin like that. Well one of my relatives doesn't have a router (which is the small little box you hook your internet up to if I understand correctly) or a computer. How exactly do I get WiFi then?? They live over 100 miles away!!
oh and um
E) b. My local library has a free wireless hotspot inside their building, but all it is is a table with a wall socket on the floor! (mind you the socket's have protective coverings on them) I see people there using them though ALL THE TIME!!! How exactly am I suppose to get WiFi with just a socket ???!!!

HUH ?!?!?!!!!

If you could, answer this as quickly as possible because not only am I going upstate but I'm running out of certain options....
Please and Thank You,
-an appreciative person who would be ever-so-thankful if you could respond to this ASAP!!!

and I don't know if you have the time for it, but if you do happen to GET the time, could you take all those technological terms and put them into even simpler terms ? I know this is probably asking you a lot, but I only have a fuzzy general idea in my head of what they all are. It would just clear up a lot of things.

Thanks Again.
